Policy Suggestions

Here are a couple of suggested policies; I'm sure we can come up with more.

• Anything posted on the web site as an official committee policy or decision should be clearly marked as "proposed" until its exact wording has been approved by the whole committee.  (Putting  stuff up quickly for review is valuable, but it's altogether too easy for anyone's notes on what happened at a meeting to miss details that some members consider to be important.)
• When installing software, always install all of the optional items -- especially import and export filters -- unless there is a very good reason not to.
• All systems running any version of Windows should have all 'critical updates' (as defined by WindowsUpdate) installed as soon as possible.
