A book review by Elisabeth Carey

An island arises from the depths of Discworld's sea, in just the perfect location to be contested territory between Ankh-Morpork and Al-Khali. Shortly thereafter, there's an assassination involving the Al-Khali diplomatic mission. And then Lord Vetinari steps down as Patrician, leaving Lord Rust in charge...

Sam Vimes has no idea at all how to deal with a crime as monstrous as war, but he doesn't let that stop him. Just as he doesn't let complete ignorance of ships and sailing stop him from commandeering one, with less than happy results (except for the reader.) Great fun, as usual.
