Boskone also features nightly parties on the party floor of the hotel. These events are generally hosted and organized by publishers, WorldCon bidders, other conventions, and fan groups. If you want to hold a party, please make sure to book your room on the party floor. Also, please let us know if you are planning to throw a party, as we can then better locate your room within the block and make sure you are on the party list for the Boskone newsletter. Contact the Westin directly at 617-532-4600. They can help you rent one if you contact at them before Boskone. Contact them at least a week ahead of time.
Free WIFI is available in your room if you reserved in the Boskone block, as well as in the lobby.
For free in-room access, select the "WestinBoston" network. Open your browser, and if you try to navigate to a common site (for example, Google), you will be redirected to page where you need to select a level and agree to terms. Select a Silver level. For those who reserved rooms in the Boskone block, the charge should be removed from you bill before you check out. If you have a WIFI charge on your bill and you reserved for the Boskone block, say you're with Boskone and it will be removed.
From the lobby, select "WestinBostonLobby" network (and so on).
Check-in: begins at 3pm
Check-out: by 12 noon. A late check-out of 2pm may be available. You can avoid morning check-out lines by pre-paying the night before.
Want to ship your books home? The Fort Point Post Office is open long hours and is only about a mile from Boskone. It's just behind South Station and not a bad walk, but you can take the Silver Line to South Station or a cab to 25 Dorchester Avenue if you prefer. It's even open on President's Day.
