Anthony Boucher

Anthony Boucher (William Anthony Parker White) (1911-1968) began publishing stories in 1941. His first published story was "Snulbug," which was published in Unknown Worlds, and he was a regular contributor to that magazine and to Astounding Science Fiction for the next two decades.

In 1949, along with J. Francis McComas, he founded The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, which he edited until his retirement in 1958. While he was at the helm, F&SF won the Hugo for Best Professional Magazine in 1957 and 1958. He edited numerous volumes of The Best from Fantasy and Science Fiction. He also edited the two-volume A Treasury of Great Science Fiction in 1959.

He was also well known as a mystery writer and critic. His mystery novel Rocket to the Morgue features many well known science fiction personalities (with the names changed to protect the innocent and the not-so-innocent).

The cover art for the first edition is by Jane Dennis, co-owner of Fo'Paws Productions. She is a long time SF fan and reader.
