The Immortal Storm

A History of Science Fiction Fandom

This text relates to the 1st edition • Hardcover (Trade)

by Sam Moskowitz

[Despite the boiler plate "NESFA Press Publication", this was not a NESFA book. It is here to anchor in the database the later NESFA edition.]

A history of the early days of science fiction fandom, which started with a small group of devotees who shared a common enthusiasm — but whose differences kept them in almost continuous conflict. Many of those early fans subsequently later became significant writers of science fiction: Issac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, and others. Here we see them at the beginnings of their careers, expressing their points of view and opinions in battles, brawls, divisions, and break-ups which seem as violent as the interplanetary wars they later wrote about.
